- Maximize their use of body language, eye contact, and gestures.

- Identify and apply specific strategies in responding to audience questions and handling challenging situations.
- Implement proven techniques to engage the audience and increase its understanding.
What do all great presenters have in common? They've learned to portray confidence even under the most challenging circumstances. Participants learn to direct "dynamic tension," create positive affirmations, and manage logistics to set the stage for success before the presentation begins.
Based on a pre-work assignment, each participant makes a 3-minute presentation that is videotaped. Participants receive constructive feedback within the group from colleagues and the course instructor. On a round-robin basis, participants receive private feedback from a presentation skills coach. This process is repeated for a 5-7 minute presentation on Day 2.
VERBAL AND NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION
Participants practice techniques to enhance voice quality (and reduce fillers) and to improve the use of imagery, body language, eye contact, and hand gestures.
HANDLING CHALLENGING SITUATIONS
Participants learn how to respond to challenging audience behaviors including side bars, cell phones, and interruptions. Participants also apply techniques to manage the Q&A, including various types of challenging questions.
Even the most experienced presenter can improve in terms of delivering an informative, memorable, presentation. By utilizing adult learning principles, presenters can learn how to involve their audience and use a group's energy to enhance the message. In this module, presenters take one of their own existing presentations and rework the introduction or conclusion to incorporate audience involvement.
